Mineral Makeup Mania

I'm so in love with mineral makeup right now. I bought Everyday Minerals a month ago, and am absolutely hooked. I'll do a review on what I used very soon.

Just an hour ago, I placed an order for a sample kit from Silk Naturals. It should arrive in 3 weeks, I think. Oh, and also makeup brushes from Lumiere.

Damn you, online shopping!!

LOL Mineral makeup is addictive that way though I'm kinda off it. Only liking some foundation for now.

I've been using my mineral foundation from Everyday Minerals off and on, and I really should finish it first before ordering more, though I am itching to try Lumiere!

Oh damn...now you've gone and started me off on Skin Naturals - just placed my own order (and here I thought I was going to be good and save $$ this month!!) :O

Lol! I love Silk Naturals. Been using them for more than 3 months now. Hmm so far from experience SN's stuff usually arrives within 1.5weeks. I love their service. :D

i think the only issue is the troublesome of using it, the waste is usually more than what i put on my face -_-

Well, that's because I jumped onto the bandwagon WAAAAY later before you did! I'm in that phase now. Tee hee!

    Rinnah:
See, the thing is, with the samples so cheap, you'd want to try more and more! :p

    Beetrice:
Thank you for not making me seem like I'm the only one here! :D Have you tried other brands of mineral makeup yet? Silk Naturals seem to be cheaper than Everyday Minerals though. Haven't tried Silk Naturals yet, but I love love LOVE EDM.

    Shelly:
That's great to hear! I really hope mine doesn't take long to arrive. My EDM makeup arrived after almost a month of waiting!

    Prettybeautiful:
To be honest, I have no problems with my EDM makeup. They come in sifter jars, which keep the powders in. So far, I've only spilt very little of the powder.

Hope you'll love the SN samples! My samples order from Signature Minerals just arrived today! Can't wait to try them out and compare. SN has got a cool collection of famous brand clones for eyeshadow and blush colours as well which I hope to try soon!!

Thanks for the recommendation actually, if not I'd never have heard about it nor buy it in the first place. Oh wait, would that be a good thing or bad? :p

I bought the Climax blush, which was supposed to be the clone for NARS Orgasm. Can't wait to try that one out. I was perusing the clone eyeshadow set for Bobbi Brown's Stonewashed Nudes today, and I am SORELY, SORELY tempted. Oh boy.

    Signature Minerals? Oh man .......

:-> I know what you mean. You've certainly tempted me with Everyday Minerals. Just checked out their website today and am thinking of getting some samples.

Ooo..my sis has got Climax and it's real nice. We don't have NARS so we can't compare but the colour looks real good.

I just tried my Signature Minerals samples today. So far so good! Hehe...

I'm gonna get new Silk Natural lip glossies too soon! Gosh! I'm such a shopaholic...:->

I don't know where this sudden hit of mineral makeup mania is coming from, but thanks to the drop in the US dollar, I just got myself more stuff from Silk Naturals, and a sample kit from Signature Minerals. I'm just waiting for the next round of specials from Everyday Minerals before I play my order on their brushes. I used the long kabuki, and I'm so in love.

    Argh. Shopaholic alert!

Hehe...I know. I'm one and the same. ahaks...always having a penchant for new stuff. I'm gonna order some new stuff too! ;) Mineral makeup is the latest craze and I'm all caught up in the mad rush! *sigh*

Can't wait for your EDM review! As for Silk Naturals, I'm a lazy person so I don't like mixing the colors together and trying it on a gazillion times to get the right shade. The coverage isn't enough for me either :( But I'm super duper tempted to get my hands on some of their clones - the shadows, glosses, and blushes.

    Indulgent Diva:
Me too! Although I'd say I got onto the whole mineral makeup bandwagon a bit later than everybody else, so to the rest, I'm pretty much old news. Still, my goodness, the number of new "companies" coming up with mineral makeup is simply amazing. Is it THAT easy to do? Should I come up with my own line, you reckon? Hehehe, a business on its own. Tee hee!

    The Faux Fashionista:
Haha, then I shall get right to it! I'm actually more keen on the makeup clones from Silk Naturals than the foundation. Since I've already found my perfect skintone on EDM, I reckon I'll just stick to that. I bought Climax, which was supposed to be a clone for NARS' Orgasm. Still waiting for it to arrive. Can't wait to try it out!

I've ordered from Everyday Minerals and Lumiere. Still waiting for the shipment but I can't get my hands on it. My only worry is the base or primer. Is there a diff in makeup base and foundation primer? Besides the very expensive Laura Mercier, are there other good primer you can recommend pls?

    Twiistii:
Makeup base and primer are pretty much the same thing. It's basically a shield between your skin and the foundation. If you have oily/combination skin, it is recommended that you use an oil-free primer before applying mineral foundation, or else your face will shine (and not in a good way, trust me).

Other than MAC's Strobe Cream and Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer, the only brand of makeup base I've tried was CLIO, which is a Korean makeup brand used at Stella-in, during my short makeup course. It was only so so. I have read good reviews on Maybelline's makeup primers though. Perhaps you should give that a try?

    Good luck!
