Who Owns What?

Proctor and Gamble Johnson Estee Lauder Loreal

Do you know that ...

Estee Lauder owns Aramis, Aveda, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Bumble & Bumble, Darphin, Prescriptives, M.A.C., Jo Malone, Origins, Ojon, American Beauty, Flirt, Good Skin and Creme de la Mer.

L'oreal owns Maybelline, Lancome, Helena Rubinstein, BioMedic, Vichy, Biotherm, La Roche Posay, Redken, Skinceuticals, Garnier, Keratase, Kiehl's, Shu Uemura and Giorgio Armani.

Proctor & Gamble owns Cover Girl, Max Factor, Olay, Clairol, Ivory, Noxzema, Pantene and SK-II.

Johnson & Johnson owns Neutrogena, Aveeno, Clean & Clear, RoC and Lubriderm.

Interesting, eh? Makes you wonder why there's such a huge difference in prices when it comes to the high-end and drugstore brands owned by the same company. It's marketing, people. Really good and expensive marketing.

I worked in an Executive Search firm and I learned about those the hard way! I got surprised most of the times, great of you for sharing this!

great info! since I circulate the beauty industry I've worked for some of the brands. and Gio (beautifulwithbrains) had a post about this too. I'm not sure if it's the same internationally but RMK, La Prairie, Stila, YSL and some others are under Lux. And Dior is under LVMH. Makeup Forever, Guerlain and Benefit too under LVH last time but I'm not sure about now. Clarins and Loccitane under the same company.
