On the third day that we were in the US, my aunt brought us to Gilroy Premium Outlets for some, well, outlet shopping. Tim and I are really into outlet shopping, and do not believe in paying the full retail price for anything unless it's on sale, or absolutely necessary. Factory outlet shopping was something we wanted to do when we were in the US.
Gilroy Premium Outlets was huge. There were so many outlet stores, e.g. Ann Taylor Loft, Kenneth Cole, Hugo Boss, etc.
Tim bought a shirt at Hugo Boss for his dad, and a shirt for himself at Kenneth Cole. The Kenneth Cole shirt was really cheap; if I recall correctly, it was under USD25.
As for me, there was only one store I was interested in, and that was Coach. I'm afraid I didn't take any photographs of the store; the excitement of seeing the bags got the better of me :p I died again and went to bag heaven!
It was a really good thing that I went to the Coach outlet during that time, because they were giving out additional discounts to the already discounted bags. Some were even going at 50% off the outlet prices. It was crazy, I tell you. I had sales assistants coming to me, bringing bags and more bags with them, whispering excitedly to me, "OMG, these bags are only USD80! So cheap!" Every bag they brought me was gorgeous, and I wanted 'em all. It came to a point where I had to tell them to stop bringing me those lovely bags, because they were killing me with choice!
I could really go crazy on buying Coach bags, because so many of them were going at less than USD100. It was with MUCH self-restraint that I decided to not buy more than two bags (I had to consider baggage space, and bags can take up a lot of space). And you know how difficult that is for me to do :p
I was never really interested in Coach's monogrammed bags, and I've always loved the soft leather bags Coach have. In the end, I bought two very simple leather bags, with classic designs.
Simple, aren't they? They're both made of really soft leather, and I love 'em! The larger bag on the left came up to USD146, and the smaller white bag was USD91. I thought those were great bargains, compared to how crazy expensive Coach bags are everywhere else. It's ridiculous, I tell you. Coach bags can cost thousands of ringgit in Malaysia.
A majority of the customers in the Coach store were Asians. A lot of them were buying bags upon bags like there was no tomorrow. Bad economy be damned, they say ;)
On a different note, another bag I bought during the trip (this wasn't at Gilroy), was an Andy Warhol bag. I got this at Ross. I thought it was super cute, and would make a good shopping bag.
Campbell soup, anyone?
This concludes my holiday shopping haul. It was totally crazy, I know, and I'm stoned-broke now, but I had fun sharing it with you :)

I first read about Rootote bags on Karen Cheng's blog. They looked so cute, and so roomy that I was raring to give it a try.
The first bag I bought was RT Medium Plain Sumiro.
I absolutely LOVED it! It's made of tough ol' canvas, and oh so convenient with the large inner pockets to hold my mobile phone, mints, hand sanitiser, tissues and a pen. It's even got a Roo pocket (adapted from the kangaroo's pouch), which is an external zippered pocket which allows easy access to your keys, wallet or mobile phone. I normally chuck my iPod and earphones in there.
I bring this with me when I'm shopping, heading to the library, meeting up with friends for lunch, etc. It's amazing how much stuff I can put into the bag. I can never go back to using small handbags, not with the amount of junk I carry with me everyday ;)
Another Rootote I have is the RT Medium Luxe Prairie. The handles are slightly shorter than the Sumiro's.
I'm lemming for a Tall Rootote now. Oh decisions decisions.

What do you think about customising your own bag? Nope, I don't mean accessorising it with knick-knacks, scarves, keychains, etc. I mean actually DRAWING on your bag.
Fendi introduced the Paint-Your-Own Baguette Tote. The bag comes with a coated canvas, an acrylic double-F logo on the front (Fendi wouldn't be Fendi without it) and ten Pantone Universe marker to create your own design on the bag.
Sacre bleu! Such a blasphemy on beauty, I tell you.
Now I don't know about you, but at USD1300, no markers, pens, grimy fingers, etc are even coming NEAR my bag. Why ruin a pretty white bag? Tsk tsk.

Ooooh, check it out, the world's first compartmentalised bag!
Gosh, I wouldn't mind me one of these. To try out anyway. My bag's pretty messy; searching for my keys, and mobile phone seem like such a feat on a busy day (short of tossing my bag inside out). It'd be great to have a bag like this; at least I'd know where things are in an instant. It'll definitely be a time-saver.
Still, with these fixed-sized compartments, I'd imagine the bag to be rather bulky. Also, the items would have to be rather small to be able to fit into these compartments (bigger items would again, be tossed into the bag).
Oh well, despite the disadvantages, I'd love to have something like this, at least, to give it a go. Being such a bag lover that I am, that is ;)
